Intellectual property rights can be the difference between a good idea and a successful business. Patents, trademarks and design rights are fundamental prerequisites for innovation, growth and value creation.

Which type of right you need depends on your idea or invention. When you have an IP right, it means that you are the one who can decide who may use it. You can therefore more easily stop copycats.

Speakers:

Maria Kallestrup Chatterton is a Legal Advisor (LL.M.) at the Danish Patent and Trademark Office, specializing in trademark and design protection, with experience in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, classification, and international trademark applications. She is particularly passionate about communicating knowledge of trademark and design rights, helping businesses realize the full potential of intellectual property rights.

Martin Arpe Hansen has a master’s degree in physics and has worked at the Danish Patent and Trademark Office for the past 10 years. His technical expertise lies in the engineering fields of renewable energy, particularly solar energy, wind turbines, and batteries. He also specializes in electrical engineering, including control systems and software-related inventions.
