Life Science Invest
Life Science Invest (LSI) is a partnership whose purpose is to strengthen access to funding for Danish life science- and healthtech companies. The activities are based on the investors’ perspective and the barriers they encounter in the Danish market. The partnership was founded by key players in Danish life science.
Life Science Invest works across ecosystems and brings together relevant actors to jointly identify challenges and collaborate on solutions that can increase capital inflow to Danish companies.
Identified barriers to investment
In 2025, Life Science Invest conducted the survey ‘Barriers to Investing in Danish Health-tech start-ups‘. The survey identified three key challenges from the investors’ perspective:
- Lack of co-investment networks and limited access to investment opportunities
- Lack of awareness among international investors, which inhibits Denmark’s access to international capital
- Slow procurement and deployment of new solutions in the public health system, which weakens investors’ confidence in the market potential
Initiatives in Life Science Invest
- Investor network meetings
Life Science Invest holds investor network meetings that bring together business angels, venture capital funds and family offices. The meetings focus on access to deal flow, building investor networks and strengthening industry insight. The purpose is to create the relationships and trust necessary for investors to find each other and the right investment cases. - International positioning of Denmark
The partnership collaborates to position Denmark as a leading life science nation to international investors. TechBBQ serves as the primary platform for this effort and is purposefully used to increase international knowledge of Danish life science and healthtech. - Public-private initiatives
Life Science Invest works with initiatives to strengthen investor confidence through documented proof of concept cases in the Danish healthcare system. The aim is to reduce the risk for investors, strengthen companies’ documentation and credibility, shorten the path to market and increase the likelihood of new solutions being adopted.
At the same time, the project focuses on developing initiatives and networks that can strengthen Danish life science companies’ opportunities to start smaller pilot projects directly in the public healthcare system. - Partnership
Life Science Invest is a partnership between key players in the Danish life science ecosystem, who through their collective sector insight and analyses, drive the joint initiatives in the project.
